In the OSCE prep course, students learn about the OSCE – the Objectively Structured Certification Examination that is administered to RMTS of the 5 regulated provinces (Newfoundland, PEI, New Brunswick, Ontario and British Columbia).
The course is not a requirement for application for the examination, however is extremely beneficial to those wishing to take the course as it provides insight into what is expected. This course also gives a brief description of regulation in Alberta, and is geared in preparation for the inevitable OSCE examinations that RMT’s in Alberta will have to complete in the future. Students are taught what the OSCE is in terms of examination. They also learn about the MCQ, a multiple-choice exam that must be completed prior to application to the OSCE portion of the certification. Students gain knowledge about the college of massage and the difference between a college and an association.
