The Science of Clinical Outcomes: Advancing Musculoskeletal Care with Evidence-Based Practices

Presenter: Marcus Blumensaat

Saturday, June 14, 2025, 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. MDT (Half Day)

As the world transitions to a more evidence-based model of musculoskeletal health care, practitioners are confronted with the reality that much of what they have learned, know, and share with others is belief-based rather than evidence-based. This may cause questions about how and why it impacts their practice.

This workshop will help participants better understand what contributes to positive clinical outcomes by raising awareness of evidence-based methods they can use alongside the passive modalities they already successfully practise. It will also teach participants to align the narratives accompanying their passive modalities with the current evidence base.

Participants will learn how to rely less on passive modalities and enhance their ability to use other tools, such as listening, providing education, and encouraging people to be active and return to the activities they value.

It is crucial for health professionals to adapt to changes in musculoskeletal care so they are not left behind as others in the field evolve into a more evidence-based approach. This workshop will help participants lead the way in their own practice!
